Like a Dragon: Ono Michio figure beats Goro Majima body pillow in Sega’s most wanted merch vote

Ono Michio's figure has won Sega's official mech popularity vote for the Like a Dragon series. It will be manufactured within two years.

Two months ago, Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio published an extensive list of potential Like a Dragon merchandise and promised to manufacture the one that proves the most popular among fans. The results of the vote are finally in, and the winner of the 20th anniversary campaign is the Ono Michio figure. As promised, Sega will be commercializing the figure within two years.

While a figure of a fictional district mascot isn’t as outlandish as some of the other poll ideas, it is more unique than the photo book collection that won second place. Both the figure and photo book seem tame compared to the Demonfire Dagger replica that won third place.

The remaining top ten winners include some interesting ideas as well. From fourth to tenth place, you have a collection of Yakuza clan pins, an official cookbook, a Goro Majima dakimakura pillow cover, a set of Like a Dragon karuta (Japanese playing cards) with printed images and character quotes, a Like a Dragon board game, oversized Ichiban rice crackers, and Kazama Kiryu’s red long-sleeved shirt.

All-in-all, the top ten list includes a balance of practical and strange items. Since only the winning entry will be turned into an actual product, fans might have to wait for another anniversary before they can get their hands on an official Goro Majima dakimakura.
