Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Resleriana will no longer be co-developed by Akatsuki Games

Koei Tecmo Games announced on August 27 that Atelier Resleriana will no longer be jointly developed and operated by Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games. Instead, Akatsuki Games will leave the project, and the game will be fully managed by Koei Tecmo’s Gust and Team Ninja from August 31 onwards (source: Game Biz).

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator is a free-to-play gacha game in the long-running Atelier series. It was released on Steam and mobile platforms in January this year, and currently has a Mixed Review status on Steam (source: SteamDB). It is not known why Akatsuki Games have left the project, however, they are also busy working on the upcoming action RPG Tribe Nine.

Gust has been the developer for the majority of titles in the Atelier series including the upcoming mainline entry Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, which is coming to PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC in early 2025.
