Key releases demo for new romance visual novel anemoi

The demo includes the game's prologue and part of the common route.

Over two years since its initial announcement, Key’s upcoming all-ages romance visual novel anemoi is finally playable by way of a free demo (available only in Japanese for now), which can be downloaded on the game’s official webpage. It includes the full release’s prologue and part of the common route.

As protagonist Mugi Hayakawa, players return with their younger sister Rikka to their countryside home in Masumi Town to open a time capsule they buried ten years prior. They run into four girls: Spica Tsujikura, Aino Fusaba, Hiiro Awayuki, and Koyomi Shirato, all of whom become acquainted with the siblings and their past. Featuring five romanceable girls (the last of which is the protagonist’s sister, Rikka), anemoi features several Key developers who worked on the studio’s previous works, including Summer Pockets game director Kai and scenario writers Yu Nijima and Hasama.

The title Anemoi comes from the collective name of the Four Wind Gods in Greek mythology, who are individually called Boreas (North), Zephyrus (West), Notus (South), and Eurus (East). Though none of the five main girls are named as such, the game’s title and the windmills featured in the official art hint that wind plays a central role in the narrative.

Anemoi is set to release on January 30, 2026 for Windows. Although only a Japanese version has been announced for now, previous Key titles have received English localization via Steam. Given the popularity of Key’s works, it’s likely anemoi may receive the same treatment somewhere down the line.
