Keiji Inafune allegedly asked Marvel vs Capcom’s devs to add panty shots for Roll
With the release of the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics this week, the appearance of Mega Man character Roll Caskett in the fighting games attracted attention. Responding to a fan’s comment about how the young robot girl’s underwear is always visible when fighting, the X account believed to belong to Marvel vs. Capcom planner Atsushi Tomita alleged that this decision to show her panties was made by Keiji Inafune.
Keiji Inafune was the original character designer for the Mega Man (Rock Man) series. He would go on to produce later entries in the series before leaving Capcom in 2010. At the time of the first Marvel vs. Capcom game’s development- it seems he was considered to be the person in charge of Mega Man-related things.
This piece of behind-the-scenes information about Roll Caskett ’s underwear has prompted shocked responses on forums like ResetEra. The reason for the outcry is Roll’s age. In the manual for Mega Man Legends (1997), she is described as “Mega Man’s 14-year-old best friend and companion.”
Roll appears in two games re-released in the recent Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, namely “Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes” (1998) and “Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes” (2000). In these fighting games, she is also depicted like a young girl.
Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is available now on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch and PS4.
This sounds like a bit from a workplace comedy. Like the artist went (☞゚∀゚)☞ “You’re right”
The character’s name is Roll, not Roll Caskett, that’s a different character from the Mega Man Legends series.
