Katsuhiro Harada asks LilyPichu for a Tekken rematch

One of the highlights of EVO 2024 was when Tekken developer Katsuhiro Harada fought against content creator LilyPichu in Tekken 8. Thanks to LilyPichu’s tenacity (and with help from her Tekken coach Phi “PhiDX” Lam), she was able to defeat Harada’s Feng using Lili. Now, fresh after EVO 2024, Harada took to social media and requested a rematch between himself and Lily Pichu.

While neither Harada’s nor LilyPichu’s skills could be considered on par with high-level Tekken players, their exhibition match showed them performing some good combos on each other. Both players initially won one game apiece, with the final outcome coming down to the final round. Harada was on the verge of winning until he whiffed his wake-up attack. LilyPichu then capitalized on the opening by using her character’s Rage Art to finish off Harada.

Harada joked that he would nerf Lili if he lost the match against LilyPichu but has yet to keep his promise in a new patch. People have already expressed interest in this probable rematch, with some joking about how Harada got beaten in his own game. Others advised Harada to switch to Heihachi once he is released in autumn of this year despite the Tekken creator maining Feng. No matter what the two players decide to do, the proposed rematch would be an interesting watch.
