Saeko: Giantess Dating Sim sure is enjoying its first month after release. Since its May 30 launch, the kinky dating simulation/ horror title has sold over 10,000 copies within its first week (an admirable feat for three-member Japan-based studio SAFE HAVN). It has also received numerous positive reviews on Steam, earning a “Very Positive” rating on the platform.

Saeko: Giantess Dating Sim is a psychological horror game with elements of a dating simulator. As Rin, an amnesiac who is shrunken down by Saeko, you are forced to serve your new mistress in two ways. During the morning, you act as a supervisor to your fellow shrunken captives. In addition to distributing food and resources to them, you also foster relationships that could prove beneficial. Nighttime is when you and Saeko get more personal, as she asks a series of yes-no questions that change her disposition and deepen your relationship. Your choices impact yourself and others, ultimately determining who survives.

Originally inspired by an erotic novel by Japanese novelist Fuechi Sizue and further influenced by visual novels games like VA-11 Hall-A, Saeko: Giantess Dating Sim unnerves players by making them feel like they are constantly being watched by the giantess. With a Steam description that reads “the deepest journey into a developer’s proclivities in indie game history,” the developers’ passion for combining the sensual and horrific seems to be what’s drawing players to try this unusual but thrilling game.
SAEKO: Giantess Dating Sim is available for PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux) via Steam, DLsite, and Stove Store.
