Ico and Shadow of the Colossus creator reveals new game at The Game Awards 2024
A preview for the latest game by genDesign was revealed at The Game Awards 2024. GenDesign is headed by Fumito Ueda, best known for Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian. The in-development game is currently untitled. The trailer suggests a game with a dark, dystopian setting.
The preview features a strange, distorted voice announcing an ominous countdown warning of a shockwave impact. A lone figure in a cape climbs up a spine-like ladder to look out over a purple sky reflected in the water, with a black flickering on the horizon. Next a detailed, giant robotic head takes off, becoming attached from its spine- it seems like the cloaked figure may be piloting it.
That is all that has been revealed about the project so far. If it is anything like genDesign’s other games, we can likely expect to be taken on an emotional journey.
