Hideki Kamiya regrets harsh outburst towards Okami fan on X so much he wants to “snap his own neck off”
As much as he’s known for his work on beloved series like Bayonetta, Viewtiful Joe and Okami, Hideki Kamiya is also notorious for making funny comebacks to stupid questions, calling people insects and going on large-scale blocking sprees on social media.
But following the announcement of Okami’s sequel, which is being developed by the veteran developer’s new studio Clovers, Kamiya has shown some remorse, as a past interaction with a fan has come back to haunt him.
In a post on his personal X account from December 16, Kamiya comments, “I was watching peoples’ reactions to Okami’s announcement when I came across a video of a woman getting super emotional and overjoyed, and it really touched me. But at the same time, she seemed kind of familiar, so I looked through my X log and found that she had sent me questions in the past. But in response, I was rudely shouting insults at her, and now I want to snap my own neck off…”
In a follow-up post, Kamiya shared the reaction video in question, which belongs to content creator @Skittzipoo. Kamiya apologizes, saying, “I love this person… I’m sorry about before…”
Aside from this post, Kamiya has also been responding to fans’ requests to unblock them over the past two days. However, for those who are worried that the creator will mellow out and stop being hilarious on X, he still seems to be proactively calling people insects and telling them to go away if they come up with questions that annoy him enough.
