Gacha game silently adds jiggle physics to cat’s balls in latest update

HoYoverse's latest update for Zenless Zone Zero adds jiggle physics where you'd lest expect to find them.

HoYoverse recently released the Ver. 1.6 update for Zenless Zone Zero. Titled “Among the Forgotten Ruins,” the major update adds a bunch of new content, including a new area, characters and events. However, not listed within the patch notes is one silent change eagle-eyed players on Reddit spotted – cats’ testicles now have jiggle physics.

Mind you, it’s not the first time Zenless Zone Zero has attracted attention related to cat testicles, as it already went viral for “giving cats giant balls” last year. It’s worth mentioning, in HoYoverse’s defense, that the testicles are actually of a regular size for a healthy tom cat, but it is admittedly not every day you see them rendered in a video game, so I can understand why there was so much buzz about it.

In the post-update Zenless Zone Zero clip shared by Reddit user Cold_Mundane, the cat’s testicles really do seem to be swaying as it walks, and when I went to Lumina Square and zoomed into the behinds of the cats passing by, I was able to verify these findings with my own eyes.

I called this a silent update, but the patch notes do mention “enhancements to pedestrian behavior in Lumina Square to make it more dynamic and diverse,” so cat testicle jiggle physics may fall under this.

Zenless Zone Zero is free-to-play on PC (HoYoPlay/Epic Games Store), PS5, Android, and iOS.
