FromSoftware has no plans for Elden Ring 2, but they have several new titles in the works, according to Miyazaki

Elden Ring’s new Shadow of the Erdtree DLC received the Grand Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia held on December 3. The base game wasn’t forgotten either, as it was chosen by users for a PlayStation Generations Award (PlayStation Blog).

At the awards ceremony, Elden Ring director and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki responded to questions from the press about the studio’s future (as reported by IGN Japan).

When asked about the Elden Ring IP, Miyazaki commented “We’re not really considering developments such as an Elden Ring 2.” At the same time, the creator also emphasized that he’s not denying the possibility of the Elden Ring IP being expanded upon “in some form in the future.”

Miyazaki wasn’t able to be specific about FromSoftware’s upcoming games, but mentioned that the studio is working on several projects. The works-in-progress are diverse in terms of genre, and some of them are directed by Miyazaki himself, while others are handled by other members of the team.
