FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6 surpasses 3 million copies sold worldwide in under a year
FromSoftware announced on July 25 that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has sold over 3 million copies since it was released in August 2023.
As the first title in the mech action game series in 10 years, expectations were high for Armored Core 6. The game embodies the spirit of previous Armored Core titles, while adding in the challenging missions that Dark Souls and Elden Ring developer FromSoftware is known for. Armored Core 6 has been praised for its fast-paced, dynamic mech battles as well as its high levels of customization, which allow you to kit out your mech to suit your playstyle. It currently has a score of 86 on Metacritic and 91% positive reviews on Steam.
As well as being highly evaluated by publications and players alike, Armored Core 6 has apparently also done well financially. In October 2023, it was reported to have quickly sold over 2.8 million copies, less than 2 months after release. FromSoftware posted on X yesterday that the game has surpassed 3 million copies worldwide. This makes Armored Core 6 the best-selling title in the series by a large margin (for reference, Armored Core 5 was reported to have sold 250,000 copies in Japan, with global estimates around 400,000).
Post translation: Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon has shipped a cumulative total of over 3 million copies worldwide. Thank you so much to all of our players.
Armored Core 6 is available on PC (Steam), PS4/PS5, Xbox One and Xbox series X|S.
I can highly recommend Armored Core 6, it was my first introduction to a FromSoft game and absolutely does it live up to the expectation. My only hope is we can see a sequel soon and potentially more games like this from Japan.
