Former Capcom developers establish new studio, tease unannounced game
Former Capcom developers Hideaki Utsumi and Saori Utsumi (who happen to be a couple) announced the establishment of Birdkin Studio on September 9. Their small-scale studio currently has a game in the works for Steam and the Nintendo Switch.
During his Capcom days, Hideaki Utsumi worked as chief sound designer for the first Devil May Cry title and has also been involved in the sound design of the Resident Evil series. Saori Utsumi is also a former Capcom employee who composed music for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and Mega Man Xtreme, among other titles.
The Utsumis have recently founded Birdkin Studio and are currently working on an unannounced game. The duo is handling all aspects of development including game design, sound design, music composition, CG art and programming. Not much is known about the upcoming title yet. However, the developers commented that they will be creating games “that make life fun.” In addition, their official website shows a piece of cute, pastel-colored pixel art, which suggests we could be getting a cozy, heartwarming game from them.
Birdkin Studio will be posting updates on their activities via X.
