Final Fantasy VII Rebirth took home a total of 7 honors at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024 held on March 15, 2025, including the prestigious Game of the Year award. Apart from Game of the Year, the Square Enix title also won awards for Best Game Developer/Studio, Best Scenario, Best Graphics, Best Voice Actor (for Maaya Sakamoto’s portrayal of Aerith Gainsborough), Best Character (for Tifa Lockheart), and Best RPG.

Other winners at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2024 include Metaphor: ReFantazio for Best Music and Best Rookie (new IP), Astro Bot for Best Action Game, Rise of The Ronin for Best Action Adventure Game, Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club for Best Adventure Game, Nine Sols for Best Indie Game, Final Fantasy XIV for Best Online Game, and Zenless Zone Zero for Best Gaming App.
Famitsu/Dengeki Special Awards were given to Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, and Black Myth: Wukong. Pokémon Legends: Z-A also won an award as the most anticipated title for 2025.

As the largest user-voted game awards show in Japan (source: Otaku Soken), Famitsu and Dengeki collected votes from gamers in Japan from December 16, 2024 to January 13, 2025. Participants were allowed to choose from games released or distributed between January 1 and December 31, 2024, as well as ongoing live-service titles.
