Final Fantasy 14 Mobile is set to bring the hit MMORPG to Android and iOS

Square Enix announced on November 20 that its hit MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV will be getting a mobile version. Currently in development by Tencent subsidiary Lightspeed Studios, Final Fantasy XIV Mobile aims to bring the world of Eorzea to Android and iOS devices.

Alongside the announcement, Square Enix also dropped a video message from FFXIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) and a trailer full of nostalgic Final Fantasy imagery. “This is our latest MMORPG title specifically tailored for mobile platforms.” Yoshi-P stated. “Despite these adjustments, Lightspeed Studios is working with tremendous enthusiasm and dedication to faithfully recreate the story, duties, battle content and other aspects of the original game.”

It was also revealed that Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will feature 9 iconic Jobs, as shown in a piece of concept art by Art Lead Yusuke Mogi.

Final Fantasy XIV Mobile is currently in development for Android and iOS, release date TBA. Those who are interested can pre-register via the official site
