Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation announces mystery new character to mixed reception

Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation’s official X account has announced that a brand new character will be added to the Japanese version of the game. She follows in the footsteps of Reika, the tsundere swimmer who recently debuted both versions of the DOAXVV simultaneously (more about her creation here). However, some players are critical of the game’s decision to introduce another new Venus so soon.

Sayumi Suzushiro who voices Amy will be co-hosting the latest DOAXVV broadcast on August 27, which will reveal more about the new character. DOAXVV posted an enthusiastic announcement below, complete with a teaser trailer. This trailer and announcement have got people wondering if the new character will be Amy’s twin sister.

Big news, Owners! Details will be announced on the VV live broadcast starting at 8:30pm on Tuesday, August 27.

Although some Japanese responders are happy to get a new character so soon after Reika, others were more critical. “It’s too soon” and “the island’s already full” were among the complaints. One user thought that the dev team should focus on maximizing the appeal of DOAXVV’s existing Venuses, by making each swimsuit design wearable for all the characters (instead of just a specific girl or two). They also thought the game could benefit from new activities. The gacha system and timing of character events were also highlighted as points that could be improved.

The character reveal will be broadcast live on YouTube on August 27 at 8:30pm (JST). The stream will also feature a photoshoot of the new Venus, updates, a swimsuit photoshoot, and a lottery for in-game items.

At the time of writing, it’s not known when this new Venus will appear in the international version of DOAXVV.
