Bookworms looking to spoil themselves on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach before the game releases can do so with the official novelization of the game. Written by author Kenji Yano under the pen name “Hitori Nojima,” the book is published by Shinchosha Publishing Co, Ltd. and will be released on June 25, 2025 – one day before the game’s official launch.

Kenji Yano is no stranger to adapting Hideo Kojima’s games into novels. His previous works include the official novelizations of Death Stranding, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid: Substance, and Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain. While the final game’s script will likely be made of thousands of pages to account for gameplay, side missions, and the like, Yano managed to collate the main story into 576 pages for the novel.
The list price for the official Death Stranding: On the Beach novel is 1,045 JPY (roughly $7.10 USD). You can preorder the book in its Japanese text on the official Shinchosa Publishing webpage. Volumes 1 and 2 of the novelizations of Death Stranding received official English translations and an audiobook release, so fans can hopefully expect the same treatment for the Death Stranding: On the Beach novels. Kojima Productions seems to be going all-in on promotions for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Not only will the game have an official novel, but it will also have a number of limited-edition watches that are based on the in-game timepiece worn by one of the new characters.
