Many people didn’t expect Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to become quite as big as it has, including its developers. Following the overwhelming response to the title’s art style, turn-based combat, and even soundtrack, director Guillaume Broche says his team has since reevaluated the existing plans they had for future downloadable content.
According to Broche, the 32-man team at Sandfall Interactive (33 if you include their dog, Monoco), already had plans to release DLC even before the game launched. However, due to the massive response to the game, the team has since needed to reconsider how they will approach DLC (source: Denfaminicogamer). While they figure out what to do next in terms of content, Broche and fellow Sandfall Interactive founder Tom Guillermin say the team is hard at work on making improvements to the base game (source: Washington Post).

Even with its two endings and a ton of exposition, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 still has a lot of stories to tell as an original IP. Some of the developers have expressed their desire to “do something more,” and players are more than willing to see where the game goes next. As a final note of encouragement, Guillaume tells fans to look forward to further updates.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S.
