The indie developers behind Chill With You: Lo-Fi Story, the hit atmospheric work companion game that launched in November last year, have reported that they’re dealing with some “paranormal” bugs in the game as of recent.
In Chill With You, you enjoy lo-fi beats, ambient sounds and different scenery as you work or study together with your companion Satone. With a built-in Pomodoro timer, it’s designed to help you focus on your tasks, but it also lets you wind down by interacting with Satone and deepening your relationship with her. While the game is truly as chill as its title implies, it has been experiencing a series of bugs recently that have led players to report that “Satone has supernatural abilities” to developer Nestopi.
In a March 10 announcement, Nestopi thanked players for “reporting the bugs in which Satone becomes an esper,” promising to make her unable to teleport to her chair and open windows seemingly telekinetically in a future update. They then followed up a week later tso say that they’d discovered a bug in which Satone makes the time stop, thus making the game never-ending. Since they had their hands full dealing with this serious issue, they regretfully announced that Satone was still able to “move cups with her mind” along with other minor abnormalities as of Ver1.3.3.
That wasn’t the end though – on March 19, the developers were informed of a bug in which Satone seemingly confines the player in her room. When you select to end your call with Satone, the game’s UI completely disappears from the screen, almost as if trying to stop you from existing the game. The video showing the bug is pretty sinister, as Satone simply informs you she’ll slip out for a bit, then proceeds to sit solemnly on a couch at the back of the room while you’re left with no UI to interact with. Nestopi say they were able to reproduce this bug, and are currently working on a solution. Unsurprisingly, though, there are quite a few players who seem into the idea of being confined by Satone, and wouldn’t mind the bug going unfixed.
Naturally, all of these are simply bugs and glitches that could appear in any game, but Nestopi’s cheeky way of reporting on the issues has invited much amusement among users on X and even seems to have gotten some people interested in picking up the game.
Chill With You: Lo-Fi Story is available for PC (Steam), and as of 2026, you can also get in on iOS and Android.
