Capcom sheds light on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster’s first Resident Evil 2-inspired DLC content

After keeping people in the dark about Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster’s Digital Deluxe edition content, Capcom finally revealed the first of 17 Frank West costumes, as well as the first of 17 playable background music tracks that can be played inside the Willamette Parkview Mall. Frank’s first DLC costume (not counting the pre-order costumes) will be Leon S. Kennedy’s R.P.D. uniform from the Resident Evil 2 remake. Accompanying the costume is the background track “Saudade” composed by Cody Matthew Johnson and Shim Moore.

Based on the recently released content trailer, Frank West seems to be wearing the undamaged version of Leon’s uniform – complete with sleeves and safety pads. Sadly, the costume doesn’t change Frank’s hair to Leon’s iconic blond curtain haircut, but here’s to hoping that could change before the game’s release. As with all the game’s costumes, the Leon S. Kennedy costume can be equipped in the game’s many Security Rooms.

The song “Saudade” may seem familiar to those who played the Resident Evil 2 remake, as it plays from Leon’s car at the start of the game. Saudade is also the song that plays at the end of the Resident Evil 2 remake’s 2nd run scenarios. With this gritty rock song playing throughout Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster’s mall, players will get pumped to kill zombies and psychopaths. Background music in the Willamette Parkview Mall can be changed in the “Change Mall BGM” setting in the Options menu.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

These two pieces of content are the first of many planned for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Costumes and background music with themes centered around Willamette Parkview Mall, Mega Man, Capcom Fighters, and Resident Evil heroes and villains can be purchased separately or as a whole with the Digital Deluxe edition of the game.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster releases on September 19 on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
