Capcom replaces disqualified Street Fighter 6 art contest winning entry with its own art

The original winner was disqualified after Capcom determined they used generative AI.

After the winning Kimberly fanart entry for the second Street Fighter 6 New Challenger Art Contest was disqualified for violating contest regulations, Capcom has revealed the new challenger screen that will replace it. This new Kimberly piece will be distributed for free to all players alongside the other winning entries.

Rather than subjecting everyone to the fan submission and voting process again, Capcom has decided to take matters into its own hands and create its own art for the occasion – a completely original and AI-free piece. While this makes things easier, some fans are disappointed that the developers made a replacement challenger screen instead of featuring another fan-submitted Kimberly illustration.

Nevertheless, the new developer-created Kimberly challenger screen has been received positively by fans. Capcom is no slouch when it comes to art, as the company has and continues to employ many renowned artists. It should be noted that due to the Kimberly entry coming in late, it is the only one that features one of the new swimwear outfits introduced in the Sagat update

Street Fighter 6 is available on PC (Steam), PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
