Bullet-hell shooter DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite suddenly announced for Steam. A refined version with new content

DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite is set to release for PC via Steam, developed and published by Cave in-house.

Japanese developer Cave shadow dropped a Steam store page for DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite on April 8. The title appears to be a new and refined version of DoDonPachi Resurrection, featuring additional stages and characters.

The original DoDonPachi Resurrection is a bullet-hell shooting game in the DoDonPachi series, developed by Cave and released for arcades in 2008. A Steam version was released in 2016 and has since earned an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on the platform, with many appreciating the game’s improved accessibility compared to other Cave shooters.

This new release, DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite, is a refined and expanded version of the original. According to the store page, the core systems and bullet patterns remain intact, but assist features have been added to support both newcomers and returning players. Additional content includes new stages, characters, and music, along with “other features.” In short, it’s a new edition that preserves the original’s bullet hell gameplay and strategic depth while introducing assist systems and new content. Based on the Steam listing, Cave is handling both development and publishing in-house.
