IO Division, the development team behind Nexon’s hit mobile RPG Blue Archive, has unveiled the first teaser video for its new PC and mobile title Project RX (not to be confused with the ill-fated Project KV, made by former team members.)
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Project RX is an immersive 3D game designed to feel like an “isekai” that players can live in alongside a cast of cute anime girls. The new teaser shows off some of the characters working at their computers, cooking, reading books and going about their everyday lives in a cozy setting. However, it doesn’t seem like the game will be strictly slice-of-life, as the last few seconds of the teaser offer a glimpse at the characters’ fantasy-style skill effects and weapons, hinting at combat.
To accommodate the needs of both Blue Archive and the ambitious Project RX, Nexon has doubled the size of the development team, and is still actively recruiting new members for various positions related to the latter. According to a new interview with IO Division’s top members, Project RX’s playable build has already taken shape, and updates on the game are likely going to become more frequent from now on. Fans of Blue Archive will be happy to know that the project is being helmed by producer Cha Min-seo and art director YutokaMizu.
Project RX is currently in development for PC and mobile platforms. Further updates can be expected via IO Division’s official X account and YouTube channel.
