Armored Core 6 is causing a “war” among model kit companies, leaving fans with too much merch to handle

Launching in August last year, Armored Core 6 provided gamers with the valuable sustenance they can only get from a FromSoftware mecha game. But Armored Core is a title that keeps on giving – in the form of plastic model kits, it would seem. Recently, so many merch brands have announced upcoming Armored Core 6 model kits that Japanese fans are comparing the situation to the conflicting corporations in the game’s story. At the same time, people are definitely not complaining. Here’s everything you should be looking forward to:

In March, Bandai Spirits’ beginner-friendly brand 30 Minute Missions announced model kits for Raven’s 30MM RAD CC-2000 Orbiter and V.IV Rusty’s Schneider Nachtreiter/40E. Both kits are planned to go on sale in September 2024. 30MM was the first brand to announce an Armored Core 6 line, having revealed a teaser as early as October 2023.

This was followed by the announcement of a high-end Tamashii Nations model kit of Ayre’s IB-07: SOL 644, also scheduled to hit retailers in September this year. In addition, an SMP (Shokugan Modeling Project) plastic model kit and PVC figure were announced on May 8, although details have yet to be revealed.

While all of the brands listed so far are affiliated with Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher of Armored Core 6, the model kit “race” was abruptly joined by Kotobukiya and Square Enix, who announced new products simultaneously on May 8. Kotobukiya will be releasing a Schneider Nachtreiter/40E Steel Haze model kit, the preview photos of which have been causing Armored Core fans to water at the mouth ever since the reveal.

On the other hand, Square Enix Goods has revealed an upcoming Armored Core 6 Structure Arts series that will include 8 different units (seen in the post above), four of which have been revealed to be Chrome XCA-00 ANFANG, Nineball, Zio Matrix ZCL-XA/2, and Emeraude ECM-XR00.
