Realistic Hairdresser Simulator lets you micromanage your dream hair salon
Publisher Frozen Way recently announced that Petard Games’s Hairdresser Simulator will be available on PC (Steam) from March 6. The game will feature support for 15 languages including, English, and will also be coming to consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X) in Quarter 2 of 2024.
As you would expect from the title, Hairdresser Simulator lets you step into the shoes of a hair stylist. You must manage your salon and make full use of your arsenal of hairdressing tools to provide customers with their desired cut. As part of managing your business, you will need to hire additional employees and set their schedules and salaries. The aim of the game is to have a profitable chain of salons that are a cut above the rest!
In the hairdressing portion of the game, the player will have ten hairdressing tools at their disposal, including various combs, brushes, scissors, curling and straightening irons. You will take your customer through the whole transformation process- from washing their hair with the best products to cutting, styling, perming and/or dyeing their locks. Give the customer some complex and stylish balayage highlights or chop it all off- the choice is yours. Just remember to chat to them while you work and make sure they leave the shop feeling happy with their new hairdo. It seems like a lot of effort has gone into the hair animations in this game so that it moves in a realistic way.
As well as snipping hair and managing staff, Hairdresser Simulator allows you to open up to nine salons in varied locations. You can even set up shop in a former library or restaurant. The game has many customization options when you flip these venues into your ideal salon – select whatever furniture, floors, decor items and wall paint suit your taste. There is also a handy robot assistant that will hold all your hairdressing tools for you. Don’t forget to keep your place looking spick and span- muddy floors and cobwebs will probably make your customers want to go elsewhere for a trim.
You can also extensively customize your character’s model to create a hairdresser who looks just like you (or like your vision of the owner of a hairdressing empire). You can alter their face, clothing and (of course) hairstyle in great detail, and there is even an option to generate a character based on a photo that you have uploaded.
Developer Petard Games has mainly worked on DLC for Playway’s titles and Hairdresser Simulator seems to be their first full game release on Steam. The publisher Frozen Way/Frozen District is known for publishing House Flipper and its DLCs. A free DLC for Hairdresser Simulator has been announced for quarter 2 of 2024, which will add beards and moustaches to the game. The DLC promises to give you the array of tools you need to trim and style the facial hair of your male customers, adding an extra layer to the game.
Hairdresser Simulator is scheduled to be released for PC (Steam) on March 6. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X releases are planned for quarter 2 of 2024.
