Palworld parents notice striking similarity between Pals and their toddlers
Is Palworld actually just a parent simulator? Palworld players with young children have recently realized that certain Pal behaviors remind them of something they see in their everyday lives. In a recent post on Reddit, one user observed how Pal pathing is very similar to how their toddler behaves when traveling between two locations.
In PocketPair’s hit open-world survival game, you can capture creatures called Pals. You can then order them to carry out tasks for you. However, these creatures are not content to carry out your bidding like robots, so a lot of unexpected troubles can arise. Sometimes, they decide to take a detour or bump into objects on the way. They can also get stuck in a random spot and start starving, unable to see an obvious path to their goal. This might be annoying if you are trying to make builds and gather resources quickly, but it does make the Pals seem more realistic and adds character. Reddit user DoctorNerf observed that this distracted behavior was amusingly similar to how their toddler moves around the house.
While some users agreed, others chimed in that toddlers don’t usually glitch and get stuck on top of trees and roofs (although conceding that this might be due to lack of access). One user replied that they had noticed the toddler similarity in the golems you could craft in a previous Minecraft mod.
Some players get frustrated by Pals getting distracted from the task they want them to do. On the other hand, other players have spoken out in support of how differences in individual Pals’ work ethic and traits make the game more interesting. For example, Depresso’s glum attitude and lack of effort it seems to put into work has captured the affections of some players for its relatability.
Palworld is available in Early Access for the PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
