Valorant VTuber files charges after harassment by stream viewers 

The female Japanese VTuber Yowamushi Touka has announced that she will be pressing charges after becoming victim of harassment, including being told to hang herself, during a livestream. She revealed details of the incident on her official X account on January 29. 

In her address to followers, Yowamushi Touka explains that she has consulted with police regarding abuse that occurred during her Valorant livestream. The police have found a basis for charges and will apparently also be contacting Riot Games’ administration about the incident. Touka is entering preparations to hire an attorney and take legal measures.  

The VTuber explains that she decided to turn to the police because the abusers made statements desecrating the death of another creator and encouraging Touka to commit suicide. In a video she provided, a male individual can be heard making remarks such as, “Hurry up and kill yourself” and “Shut up, hang yourself.” 

By taking the case to the police, Yowamushi Touka hopes to contribute towards reducing the prevalence of abuse and threats made online.
