This cozy Japanese cafe simulator is full of cute cat girls and ASMR sounds

FuRyu Corporation’s game label Studio Lalala announced Kemono Teatime on January 24. The upcoming title is planned to release in the second half of 2024 for the PC (Steam). A trailer was revealed together with the game’s announcement.

Kemono Teatime is a cozy cafe simulator in which you blend teas and serve cute animal-eared (kemonomimi) customers. Tarte, the main character of Kemono Teatime, is a tea-blending expert who runs the cozy cafe Melodius with her little sister and pâtissier Macaron. Their business will only be open for a limited time, and it’s up to the player to find out why over the course of three weeks of running the shop. It seems that aside from Tarte, all characters in the game will be kemonomimi, displaying traits of different animals. In-game screenshots reveal a colorful cast of characters, such as Quiche the traveler and an elderly man with a mysterious scar on one eye.

Tarte can make healing blended teas to match each customer’s taste using a selection of 9 types of tea, 15 types of herbs, and 6 types of secret ingredient. Another big feature of Kemono Teatime seems to be sound and music – the background music in the cafe changes as different customers arrive, and you can also enjoy various satisfying ASMR/binaural sound effects. As seen in the screenshots, the game features cute pastel-colored pixel art.

Kemono Teatime is being developed by Studio Lalala, a game label owned by Furyu Corporation. At the head of FuRyu Corporation is Fuyuki Hayashi, known for titles such as Monark and Crystar. Hayashi is involved in the producing, planning, scenario and direction of Kemono Teatime. The game’s staff also includes other well-known creators, such as Noco (illustrations), Snail’s House (music) and APO+ of Ultimate Pixel Crew (animation).

Kemono Teatime is planned for release in the second half of 2024 for the PC (Steam).
