Popular Gaming VTubers Chihiro Yuuki and Momo Azuchi to leave Nijisanji

Nijisanji have announced that their popular gaming VTubers Chihiro Yuuki and Momo Azuchi will be graduating from the VTuber talent agency on January 31, 2024. The agency expressed heartfelt thanks to all the people from countries around the world who have supported the VTubers and their activities.

Chihiro Yuuki debuted at the time of Nijisanji’s launch in 2018 and contributed to the establishment of VTubers through appearing at many live events. She has focused mostly on streaming games, such as Apex Legends, GTA 5 and Minecraft. She also became known particularly for long streaming sessions of Apex Legends and taking part in the game’s tournaments. In August 2022, Chihiro was the most watched female Apex Legends streamer on Twitch, according to Apex Legends News

Momo Azuchi started out in 2018 as a first-generation member of NIJISANJI SEEDs. The pink haired VTuber is known for playing fighting games such as the Street Fighter series. In 2020 she participated in designing her new character model. She was also featured in the Nijisanji X Street Fighter 6 limited edition collaboration back in October 2023.

At the end of their announcement, Nijisanji added that they will gradually stop selling content like voice packs and merchandise related to the graduating VTubers. Membership of the two VTuber’s respective YouTube channels will also end with their graduation, but fan letters will be accepted until the end of February 2024.

Fans of the VTubers have reacted with shock and sadness on X, with many thanking them for working as VTubers for 6 years. Some commentators criticized the fact that Momo never got an animated 3D avatar.

Post Translation: Hey, can we at least see Momo in 3D at the end?
It was cute to see her floating around inside the TV but I really wanted to see her moving about.
Post Translation: Chihiro Yuuki and Momo Azuchi, thank you so much for all your hard work up until now! Let’s race through the last month and a half together.
