Composer Ryo Nagamatsu has left Nintendo (Splatoon’s Salmon Run, etc.)
Composer Ryo Nagamatsu revealed that he is no longer working at Nintendo as of April 30.
Nagamatsu is a music composer that worked on a number of Nintendo titles. In addition to games like Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports Resort, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, he was also involved in composing music for Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3. You might be familiar with some of his work on the series from the rock-inspired match intro “Opening” that Splatoon players have heard countless times and from the music related to Salmon Run.
Nagamatsu stated that his departure from Nintendo on April 30 was on good terms. Going forward, Nagamatsu says, “I will work a little wider and more directly to help those who need my help and to help the industry.”
