Relayer Advanced is coming to Steam on October 27
Dragami Games has announced Relayer Advanced for PC via Steam and GOG.com. The Steam version is set to release on October 27 (JST) with the GOG.com version following on November 10 (JST) for $49.99.
Relayer Advanced is an evolved version of Relayer, a strategy RPG that released in March of this year. This enhanced version keeps the strategic battle system intact while updating the UI and adding new features and endgame content.
To start, the UI elements have been refined. Character and weapon icons have been made smaller while movement and attack ranges are now outlined with “luminous lines” to improve visibility and playability. However, for those who prefer the original grid display, players will be able to switch between the two in the options menu.
There’s also a new feature called Recollections being added for replaying story sequences. This will include the scenes that play when acquiring the NEXT Stella Gears DLC, so it’s a convenient addition for those who might have accidentally skipped any one-time scenes.
Dragami notes that some story sequences in Relayer Advanced have been shortened to streamline the game without harming the deep story but that the full versions of these sequences will be available in the Recollections menu.
The third big addition in Relayer Advanced comes in the form of large-scale endgame content. The new 5 stage mission titled The Trial of the Wormhole promises to be even more difficult than the Asterism Voyage Logs postgame stages and unlocks after clearing the game. While Dragami says these stages are perfect for players looking to test their skills, there’s also an Easy Mode for players who just want to experience the story.
Furthermore, there will be DLC available at launch. Players will be able to choose from options such as the Relayer Advanced EXTRA PACK which includes the game and DLC ships or a season pass.
The original version of Relayer, which is now available on PS5 and PS4, will be receiving these new features as a free update. The free update is scheduled to go live on November 18 (JST).
