SD Gundam Battle Alliance ver. 1.30 addresses many issues that players had with the game
Bandai Namco Entertainment has released update data ver. 1.30 for SD Gundam Battle Alliance. The new update adds new missions, incorporates a variety of game balance adjustments, increases the amount of Capital (the in-game currency) acquired from defeating units, and more. What is particularly notable about this new update is the fact that it addresses a multitude of issues that players had with the game.
A detailed list of changes included in the update can be found here. The contents of the update were announced during the Gundam Game Lineup Station 2022 live stream which was broadcast in September. The majority of changes appear to have been made in response to player feedback on the game.
SD Gundam Battle Alliance is an action RPG based on the Mobile Suit Gundam series and brings together a wide range of mobile suits and characters from across the different worlds of the franchise. The mobile suits in the game are depicted in a super deformed style otherwise known as SD Gundam.
The game takes place in the G: Universe, a world where history has been distorted from the original events of each Gundam series. Players must do battle in order to correct this false history to the way things should be. In addition to being able to fight solo alongside two other mobile suits, the game also supports co-op for up to three players.
Despite seeing a rapid rise in player numbers following release, the game has been met with a mixed reception, evident by its Mixed status in Steam user reviews at the time of writing. Some aspects of the game that players had complaints with were the boss fights and the poorly balanced currency system (related article). In particular, many felt that the cost of upgrading units was too high, while the amount of Capital dropped by enemies was too low. Additionally, some players were unsatisfied with the action gameplay. There was a wide range of other concerns that had been pointed out by players, and much of this feedback was incorporated into the ver. 1.30 update.
The new update seems to be enjoying a very positive response on the game’s official Twitter account. Opinions on SD Gundam Battle Alliance are divided, but hopefully, these adjustments based on player feedback will turn things around.
