Trails of Cold Steel’s Valimar model kit is now available for pre-order

Pre-orders are now open for Good Smile Company’s MODEROID Valimar, the Ashen Knight. Initially announced in January, it is a ready-to-assemble plastic model kit that costs $47.99 and is expected to ship in January 2023. Pre-orders opened on July 21 and will continue until September 7. 

Valimar, the Ashen Knight is a Divine Knight featured in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, a game in Nihon Falcom’s popular RPG series. Valimar is piloted by Rean Schwarzer, the main protagonist of the Cold Steel sub-series. The model kit measures around 165mm (6.49in) in height and comes with fully articulated joints and interchangeable parts. The model’s parts come pre-painted, and assembly is simple, making it easy for fans to build and display the mecha.

Despite the popularity of The Legends of Heroes games, there have only been a few figures and model kits based on the series. This may be starting to change; however, as in addition to Valimar, there have been more figures announced recently.

Last week Kotobukiya announced a figure of Renne Bright based on her appearance in the upcoming Trails into Reverie, and also showed prototype images of the Rixia Mao (Trails to Azure) and Crow Armbrust (based on his Trails of Cold Steel IV look) figures that were announced in February.

There are also new figures by quesQ that were on display at the Wonder Festival 2022 Summer which took place on July 24 (JST). These figures are based on the Trails of Cold Steel II versions of characters Altina Orion and Alisa Reinford.

The Legends of Heroes series will likely continue to gain more popularity in the West with Trails from Zero coming out in September and two more games coming in 2023. Fans will also have the opportunity to put their favorite characters on display with these new figures and model kits.
