Tekken producer Harada reacts to viral Elden Ring mod for Tekken 7

A video showcasing a new Tekken 7 mod that adds Elden Ring characters to the game has gone viral. The mod was created by Tekken Mods and Twitter user Ultraboy, and as of this writing, the video they posted on Twitter has received over 60 thousand likes, even getting the attention of longtime Tekken producer and director Katsuhiro Harada.

The mod itself looks to take models for Elden Ring characters such as Malenia, Radahn, and even Alexander the Jar Warrior, and swaps them with existing Tekken characters. The mod boasts adding 8 Elden Ring characters to the game, with Torrent even being swapped in to replace Kazumi’s pet tiger. It was also a nice touch to have Radahn and Malenia fighting in the video as the two have a bit of history battling against each other. For those interested in checking out the mod for themselves, you can download it here on Tekken Mods.

With the video of the mod spreading far and wide, it was only a matter of time before someone at Bandai Namco took notice. Katsuhiro Harada of Tekken fame and general manager at the company retweeted the video along with a photo of himself with Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki. It should also be noted that Bandai Namco is the publisher of Elden Ring.

If you’re looking to get your fighting game fix but can’t stop thinking about Elden Ring, maybe this mod is for you. But please keep in mind that these mods are not officially supported, so user discretion is advised. And who knows? With Bandai Namco and FromSoftware already having a relationship, maybe we’ll see an official crossover sometime in the future. A fan can dream, right?
