Apex Legends pop-up stores to open in Japan, bringing new merch & new color variant of Nessie plushie

Electronic Arts is opening Apex Legends themed limited-time pop-up stores in Japan in cooperation with InfoLens Inc. Stores will open in the Shibuya Marui building in Tokyo and the Namba Marui building in Osaka. The Shibuya store will open between December 10 and December 26, and the Namba store will open later between January 8 and January 23.

The first “Apex Legends POP UP STORE” opened in Tokyo during August 6 – 18 of this year. Many of the merchandise were sold out immediately, and now they are bringing the store back by popular demand, expanding the lineup by “three times more” than the previous offering.

Each store will feature life-size panels of each legend, a panel of the Nessie plushie, and Apex Legends themed photo spots that replicate memorable scenes of each legend. Of course, visitors will be able to buy Apex Legends merchandise, some of which will be sold in Japan for the first time, such as the new color variant of the Nessie plushie.

Level Up Wear brand’s clothing items will be sold in Japan for the first time as well. You can also get your hands on the replica weapons that were present at the Tokyo Game Show, including L-STAR and Bloodhound’s Hunting Knife. If you spend 5,000 yen (approx. $45) or more in total (including tax), you’ll receive a special smartphone loop strap for free.

Although most of the merchandise can be bought via online shops, actually seeing and getting your hands on the items is a different shopping experience I’m sure fans of the franchise will appreciate. Japan is the second-largest market for Apex Legends according to EA’s Q2 FY2021 earnings report (PDF link), so it makes sense that EA is opening pop-up stores here in Japan. As mentioned earlier, the first pop-up store that opened back in August was reportedly quite successful.

If you’re interested, make sure to check out the details on InfoLens’ official website, since some of the dates require visitors to go through a lottery process or a reservation for admission.
