Cities Skylines player in Japan recreates driving license test course in-game
Getting your car driving license can be nerve-racking as there’s so much you must remember to do correctly on the day of the test. A Japanese X user recently came up with a novel way of remembering the many twists and turns of their driving school’s test course- by recreating it in Cities: Skylines (using mods). This interesting idea prompted other users to share their experiences of learning to drive in Japan.
The process of learning to drive a car and getting your license varies from country to country. Japan is considered to be one of the more difficult countries to learn to drive in and those who want to get their license must attend a driving school. In addition to the theory test and clocking up the mandatory hours of driving practice, the final practical test is conducted on a course at the school. Although an instructor gives directions during the final exam, examinees must remember the course layout and the maneuvers they need to perform to pass.
Cities: Skylines is an open-ended city building simulator and it seems that X user kuhakuha_211 put a lot of effort into using it to create their driving test conditions. In addition to the course layout, they also added a training car.
Commenters were impressed by the recreation, with some adding their own memories of learning to drive.
Hopefully, all this effort will pay off and the original poster will pass their test. Have you ever used a game to help you remember something non-game related, and did it work?
