In ICE on the Edge, you are a figure skating coach. It will be your job to guide your young athletes to victory in the world’s top skating competition. You will be responsible for training each skater and choosing all aspects of their routines- from the music and costumes to the techniques they must perform. Players must strike a careful balance between safer routines that play to their skater’s strengths, and super difficult choreography (which could net you that prestigious trophy or send your athlete tumbling onto the ice).

Although the trailer, which dropped today, showcases bright anime style graphics, it seems attention has also been paid to realism. The choreography of the moves and routines in the game has been supervised by former Japanese pro figure skater and choreographer Akiko Suzuki. She also choreographed the skating for the anime series Medalist.

There have been many sports coaching sims over the years covering everything from boxing to motorsports, however it is rare to see a figure skating game. Those who are interested should keep an eye on the Steam page and official X account for future announcements.

Ice on the Edge is scheduled to release on PC (Steam) sometime in 2026.
