Eternal Palace Sakura to bring stylish sword-wielding cat-girl action with jiggle physics

Independent Japanese game production group Denneko Yuugi has announced that their upcoming game Eternal Palace Sakura will be released in late 2025 for PC (Steam). The roguelite 3D action game with flashy anime style graphics will be playable in English, Japanese and Chinese.

In Eternal Palace Sakura, you play as Retla- a girl in a cat-ear hood who stylishly wields two swords. You must battle your way through the multiple floors and rooms of the Japanese-style palace, dishing out damage to monsters that cross your path. It seems that the developers have paid great attention to making the action look fluid and stylish, as well as making sure Retla looks cute and sexy in her victory poses and movements, apparently implementing some breast jiggle physics. The game also promises carefully crafted cutscenes that will bring the story to life.

Although the precise details of the gameplay mechanics have yet to be revealed, it seems that Eternal Palace Sakura will feature intuitive battles based on pulling off combos and blocking or evading attacks. Players will be able to choose whether to play more defensively or go all-out hack-and-slash style. Retla will also have a tension gauge, which, when fully charged, allows her to pull off a special limit break attack that instantly annihilates enemies with a single strike.

Like many roguelite games, you can collect power-up items as you progress through the dungeons. These can be used to enhance Retla’s abilities and unlock new actions. Part of the fun will be trying out different builds in each playthrough to find a winning strategy that suits your playstyle. The dungeon is described as an “ever-shifting dream labyrinth,” which suggests that the layout will be different each time you tackle it.

Eternal Palace Sakura was first announced in 2021. Its development is being supported by funders on Patreon. In their X post about the Steam page’s launch last week, Denneko Yuugi member Housenka released a short trailer for the game:
