Japanese publisher Tohakusha just announced their first original game Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME, scheduled to release on Steam, with the launch date TBD. As reported by Denfaminicogamer, the psychological horror mystery adventure will feature a blend of “livestream intervention” and deduction-based gameplay.
Tsumimi is a small, struggling idol live streamer, chasing popularity so that she can literally boost her visibility and hopefully reach her partner Mashiro, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances. You, the player, are one of her viewers, and by picking up hints from her livestreams and surfing the web for clues, your mission will be to solve the mystery of Mashiro’s disappearance and uncover the dark truth behind the idol’s livestream.

While you dedicate your mornings and afternoons to digging around social media and fan sites, at nighttime, you’ll be able to directly “intervene” in Tsumimi’s livestream’s using comments and Mega Chats (paid donation messages similar to YouTube’s Super Chats). Through the Mega Chats, you can send “commands” or “requests” for Tsumimi to perform, and if you pay close attention to her reactions to your prompts, you might be able to pick up some new hints and information about the disappearance incident.
The game features multiple endings, so the way you interact with the idol, conduct your investigation and make your choices will influence how the story plays out. Each playthrough is around 3 hours of playtime, with 4 to 5 hours to see all the possible endings. As per Steam’s mature content description, the game contains psychological horror alongside depictions of violence and blood, as well as references to self-harm and suicide.
The development crew behind TSUMIMI TIME features some well-known names, including character designer Wata, known for designing the model for Nijisanji VTuber Hyakumantenbara Salome. Furthermore, the game also features original music composed by songwriter and Vocaloid veteran Kikuo.
Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME is coming soon for PC (Steam).
