Resident Evil Requiem: How to defeat the Titan Spinner (Giant Spider)

Here are some in-depth tips on how to defeat the Titan Spinner (known as the Giant Spider) in Resident Evil Requiem.

The bane of every arachnophobe, the Titan Spinner (better known as the Giant Spider) is one of the bosses that welcome Leon Kennedy back to Raccoon City in Resident Evil Requiem. Though the game sadly does not have an arachnophobia mode, you can reduce the trauma you might experience by quickly eliminating it with this guide.

After surviving a tense chase sequence, you’ll enter the boss arena (don’t bother shooting it until you do). The Titan Spinner’s front can absorb a lot of damage, and its legs allow it to get around exceptionally fast, but thankfully, its open mouth and yellow butt give you two glaring weak points to aim for.

Use high ground and explosives to expose the Titan Spinner’s biggest weak point

Since the Titan Spinner’s mouth isn’t always open, you’ll want to aim at the butt for the most part.

The first order of business is to find an angle on the Titan Spinner’s behind. Climbing up ladders around the arena provides you with a good vantage point, but you can also make use of the red explosive cannisters to stun the spider and get some shots in. Dealing enough damage to the boss’s open mouth will also cause it to stagger and expose its rear.

The Titan Spinner has an attack where it turns around and shoots webs at you. Avoid the projectiles that it shoots and use your strongest weapons to dish out some quick and easy damage.

The Titan Spinner loves to play hide-and-seek

The Titan Spinner will occasionally run away and appear somewhere else in the arena. It won’t be able to attack while it’s on the walls, so if you’re feeling lucky, shoot it in its moving behind before it closes the distance.

Eliminate the Titan Spinner’s offspring with your hatchet

As if one spider wasn’t enough, the Titan Spinner will occasionally spawn smaller spiderlings that will attempt to jump and immobilize you. Instead of wasting your ammo, use your hatchet to quickly dispose of them. Be on the lookout for the boss, however, as being immobilized or lingering too long after a hatchet animation can cause you to take unwanted damage.

Continue to shoot the Titan Spinner’s weak points, and you’ll eventually defeat it. A cutscene will trigger soon after, dropping Leon into the dark Raccoon City subway.

Resident Evil Requiem is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows (Steam).
