G-Mode, a Japanese publisher dedicated to reviving old feature phone games, announced that it is bringing the mobile-exclusive Armored Core: Mobile 3 to Nintendo Switch and Windows (via Steam) through its G-Mode Archives+ initiative. Developed in collaboration with FromSoftware, it will not include achievements and language options that weren’t part of the original release, making it a direct port that is only available in Japanese.
Released on January 25, 2007 exclusively for feature phones, Armored Core: Mobile 3 takes the franchise’s core gameplay and squeezes it into a more compact package. Players customize their mechs to suit mission parameters, which include attacking and defending key objectives strewn throughout several levels.

While Armored Core: Mobile 3’s gameplay is simple compared to more recent PC and console-based Armored Core titles, the biggest reason people will want to play the port is to understand the events that occurred between Armored Core: Nexus and its sequel, Armored Core: Last Raven. Considering Last Raven marks the end of Armored Core 3’s storyline, some may want to understand the narrative in its entirety by playing Mobile 3.
Armored Core: Mobile 3 is set to release “soon” for the Nintendo Switch and Windows (Steam).
