Korean illustrator DDUCK KONG, known for creating several Goddess of Victory: NIKKE characters such as the fan-favorite bunny girl Alice, has announced that his latest indie title, Killing Magician, is set to release on December 30 for Windows via Steam. If the idea of scantily-clad female androids saving the world wasn’t outlandish enough, this new title centers on a 31-year-old woman who becomes a magical girl in exchange for a hefty recruitment fee.
In this linear visual novel, players take on the role of Iris, an office worker who encounters a magical girl named Gregory. Lured in by an upfront payment of 100 million JPY (roughly $650k), Iris decides to change careers and become a magical girl herself. Bestowed with newfound powers, the story follows Iris as she discovers that life as a magical girl isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when you have to save the world from a giant tuna.

Aside from Gregory, Iris will interact with other magical girls, a demon king, and several animals, all of whom were designed by DDUCK KONG. Though the game does not feature multiple branching storylines, it does have sub-stories that delve deeper into the personalities of its characters. Completing these sub-stories unlocks new artwork, which can be viewed from the in-game gallery.
While Killing Magician includes mature themes such as mild sexual content, violence, blood, and disturbing situations, it isn’t an NSFW title. Unfortunately, just like DDUCK KONG’s previous game Superbunny’s adventure, it doesn’t have English audio or subtitles (at least for the time being), so you might want to hold off on buying it unless you can understand Korean or Japanese. Korean or Japanese.
Killing Magician is set to release on December 30 for Windows (Steam).
