Silent Hill f is a psychological horror game developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami. Silent Fear: Last Stop, on the other hand, is a mobile game for iOS devices developed by one Khail Al Yamama, and from the looks of things, is a bootleg ripoff. The title’s store page uses screenshots from the original game, as well as what looks to be AI-generated art for its logo and one “in-game” image (as spotted by Game*Spark).

It doesn’t take a professional to see that Silent Fear: Last Stops’s logo art is very likely an AI-generated image inspired by artist kera’s iconic cover art for Silent Hill f. While Silent Hill f’s art shows Hinako slowly being infected by red spider lilies, the girl in Silent Fear’s logo seems unaffected by the red splotches that are slowly coming her way.

Two of the “gameplay” images used to advertise the game are direct screenshots from YouTube channel MKIceAndFire’s playthrough of Silent Hill f (you can clearly see part of their watermark on the lower right-hand side of the iPad screens). Icons that are normally used in third-person mobile games were photoshopped over the screens to give the illusion that the game (which isn’t even the one being advertised) is running on an iOS device.
The last and only “original” image is a seemingly AI-generated art piece that depicts Silent Fear’s protagonist at a cash register (on the customer’s side, no less).

Also known as Last Stop: Silent Terror on the Japan App Store, Silent Fear: Last Stop puts you in the shoes of a convenience store clerk working the night shift at a “nearly deserted gas roadside travel plaza.” The game supposedly begins with you completing a series of mundane tasks before introducing more supernatural phenomena as the night progresses. Though the images, logo, and character design are inspired and/or lifted from Silent Hill f, Silent Fear: Last Stop’s narrative seems to take cues from Chilla’s Art’s indie game The Convenience Store.
Featuring vague descriptions such as “short but intense gameplay,” “minimalist but effective controls,” and “unique visual style and pacing,” Silent Fear: Last Stop retails for $4.99 USD on the App Store. What’s interesting is that the game has been out since October 2, exactly one week since Silent Hill f was released. Whether Konami has learned about Silent Fear’s existence remains unclear, but its days are probably numbered.
