Following the announcement that Chilla’s Art’s The Convenience Store will be getting a movie adaptation, the film’s first real trailer was released along with more information about the cast and release date.
Kotona Minami stars as Yukino Tazuru, an employee working the late-night shift at the titular convenience store. After a mysterious delivery arrives, Yukino finds the store becoming haunted with increasingly horrifying phenomena.
The trailer makes several references to the game. Yukino seems to be in possession of an omamori charm – an item given by a female customer to the game’s protagonist. Several televisions that display static can also be seen – a reference to one of the phenomena experienced in the game’s third night. Last but not least is the female ghost, who serves as the game’s main antagonist.

Lead actress Kotona Minami is known for her role in the live-action drama adaptation of the manga Alice-san Chi no Iroribata (Beside the Hearth at Alice-san’s House), and The Convenience Store movie adaptation marks her horror debut. According to a statement by Minami (via Denfaminicogamer), the unconventional filming techniques used for the film felt “incredibly fresh.” She adds that she enjoyed imagining the final visuals during filming, and says that it was a stimulating shoot where she learned a lot.
The Convenience Store movie adaptation is set to release in Japanese theaters on February 20, 2026.
