Konami Style, Konami’s official retail website, announced on October 15 that the release of the Silent Hill f: Original Soundtrack (CD) and Silent Hill f: Original Soundtrack Konami Style limited-edition vinyl will be cancelled. The products were originally scheduled to go on sale starting December 17.
The publisher cites “various circumstances” as the reason for the cancellation, and assures customers who’ve already pre-ordered the physical version of the soundtrack that they will be refunded accordingly after all of the cancellations have been processed.
While the physical album is still visible on websites like Amazon and Yahoo Shopping for the time being, it seems like Tower Records, a major record shop in Japan, has already removed it from their online store, and it is very likely that other retailers will soon follow. Luckily, you can still listen to the soundtrack in digital form if you get the Silent Hill f Digital Deluxe Upgrade DLC. However, now that the soundtrack album has been officially cancelled, chances of it finding its way to digital streaming services are quite slim.
On a related note, the game’s soundtrack was composed by legendary Silent Hill series composer Akira Yamaoka, alongside Koei Tecmo’s composer Kensuke Inage. Additionally, independent composers dai and xaki, who worked on music for Ryukishi07s When They Cry series, contributed several tracks. With such a strong lineup of musicians behind it, Silent Hill f has also recently been nominated for the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards in the Best Soundtrack category (as well as the Best Storytelling category). It remains to be seen whether Konami will follow up with details about the cancellation.
