Koei Tecmo has announced price revisions to the digital editions of action JRPG Fate/Samurai Remnant. Starting September 16, the standard digital edition’s JPY price will be slashed by nearly half, from 9,680 to 4,950 yen. While exact USD equivalents have not been announced yet, Koei Tecmo has confirmed the price revisions on global channels. The game’s current price is $59.99.

Fate/Samurai Remnant was originally released in September 2023 as a collaboration between Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force and Fate series developer Type-Moon. The Edo period hack-and-slash game has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam out of 4,687 user reviews and a Metascore of 81. On the other hand, although it debuted strongly with 300.000 units sold in its first week, Fate/Samurai Remnant reportedly fell below Koei Tecmo’s targets (source: Kabutan).
The title has frequently gone on sale in the meantime, but by permanently pricing down, perhaps Koei Tecmo hopes to attract a wider playerbase. Apart from the standard edition, Fate/Samurai Remnant’s Digital Deluxe edition and Season Pass will also get more affordable price tags starting September 16. Previously released Phantasmal Dress DLC costumes for Miyamoto Iori and Saber will be released for free. On the same day, the title will also be added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.

Fate/Samurai Remnant is out now on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).
