Monster Hunter Wilds is turning up the heat with its upcoming Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event. Amidst the plethora of summer-themed content, which includes a seasonally-decorated Grand Hub, special craftable armor sets for your hunter and Palico, as well as new events and cosmetics, your NPC companions will be getting some new threads that let them soak in the sun.
Alma the Handler, Erik the Astrum Unit’s Handler, and Gemma the blacksmith will be donning new outfits for the seasonal event. Alma Outfit: Summer Poncho, Erik Outfit: Summer Hat, and Gemma Outfit: Summer Coveralls will be worn by the respective characters for the duration of the summer event, whereupon they can be purchased as part of the Flamefete DLC Pack. The DLC pack will also include special pendants, gestures, stickers, and a Seikret decoration for your hunter.
While Alma has had her share of paid and free cosmetics (including an outfit inspired by the Monster Hunter: World Handler), this is the first time that Erik and Gemma will be getting new costumes outside of their regular and winter outfits. Considering that Monter Hunter Wilds’ Free Title Update 2 recently allowed players to switch between Alma and Erik as their active handler on missions, it only makes sense that Erik’s wardrobe should start to get bigger. Gemma is always sweating up a storm at her smithy, so she deserves a change of clothes.
If one Alma cosmetic isn’t enough for you, taking part in the new “Putting Up a Stink” Event Quest will allow you to gather unique materials and craft the Half Rim Glasses and Lovely Shades headgear for your hunter and Alma. You’ll need to complete Alma’s “The Apple of Her Eye” side mission to unlock her customization options, but once you do, you and she will be able to go twinsies with matching eyewear.
In addition to the three NPCs, Fabius – the leader of the Hunter’s Guild – will occasionally join you on missions as a Support Hunter during the summer event. For as highly talked about as he is, Fabius rarely gets to see any action in the main story. Hopefully, players will be able to rely on Fabius as they take on the upcoming Arch-tempered Uth Duna. With so much content lined up this summer, the Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event gives new and returning players a reason to get into Monster Hunter Wilds.
The Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event runs from July 23 to August 6. Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
