Umamusume: Pretty Derby is currently experiencing a surge in international fans following its recent global launch. And it seems like anime horse girls are not enough, as, through Umamusume, many players are getting hooked on real life horses as well. With this in mind, Cygames shared a general list of rules and guidelines to follow when visiting any of the retired racehorses that the in-game horse girls are based on.
The nine rules for visiting a ranch were created by the Japan Racehorse Hometown Information Center. Here’s what you’ll need to be mindful of when scheduling and visiting a horse ranch:
1. Please contact the Racehorse Hometown Information Center to inquire about tour availability.
2. Please contact the Racehorse Hometown Information Center for tour times.
3. Please follow the instructions of the ranch staff when on the farm.
4. Please do not enter the stables or pastures without permission.
5. Please do not make loud noises or speak loudly.
6. Please do not touch the horses as it is dangerous.
7. Smoking is forbidden on the ranch.
8. Please refrain from using camera flashes.
9. Never feed the horses anything.

Cygames wants potential visitors to know that horses are very sensitive and can easily be startled by human activity. Considering each famous racehorse lives on a different ranch and not some fictional horse school like Umamusume’s Tracen Academy, they aren’t used to loud noises, camera flashes, or contact with strangers.
There have already been cases of rule-breaking on the ranches which involve trespassing and unwanted photography. Those who are caught violating the rules could be escorted off the premises and can even be banned from future visits. For as much as you love in-game horse girls like Haru Urara and Gold Ship, Cygames wants you to be mindful when visiting their real-life counterparts.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is available for iOS, Android, and Windows (Steam).
