Stellar Blade Switch 2 port not confirmed yet, Shift Up clarifies in response to rumors

Following reports of Shift Up acquiring a Nintendo Switch 2 devkit and getting started on a Stellar Blade port, the studio has commented that nothing is official at the time.

Following Stellar Blade’s successful PC launch and the game selling over 3 million copies, it only makes sense that development studio Shift Up would want to capitalize on its success by expanding to other platforms. While there is a possibility that a Switch 2 port of Stellar Blade is in the works, an official at the studio says that nothing has been confirmed.

According to PlayForum, industry sources report that Shift Up recently acquired a Nintendo Switch 2 devkit. This would allow the studio to create new software and port over their existing titles for Nintendo’s new console. Considering Stellar Blade’s recent accomplishments, fans wouldn’t be surprised if the game received a Switch 2 port.

Another interesting note is that Shift Up recently gifted Nintendo Switch 2s to all of its employees. Though the studio is no stranger to rewarding its employees with consoles (each received a PlayStation 5 and a PlayStation 5 Pro in the past), these are usually accompanied by certain studio milestones. While this particular giveaway coincides with Stellar Blade selling over 3 million copies and the Switch 2’s release, it could mean that Shift Up is working on something for the console.

As hopeful as fans are for a Switch 2 port of Stellar Blade, PlayForum quotes a Shift Up official who says that “nothing has been confirmed regarding development on the Nintendo Switch 2.” Whether they were referring specifically to a Stellar Blade port or Shift Up’s upcoming projects as a whole is unknown, but fans might want to hold off on celebrating until the studio makes an official announcement.

Stellar Blade is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
