As the latest Strategist in Marvel Rivals, Ultron is just as susceptible to dive heroes as the other characters in his class. His ability to fly makes it a little easier for him to escape, but it also splits the dive heroes into two categories: those that can hit him at range and those that cannot.

Dive heroes with ranged options require hit-and-run tactics or tactical retreats
Currently, there are only three dive heroes that pose a real threat to Ultron: Psylocke with her Psionic Crossbow primary fire and Wing Shurikens secondary fire, Spider-Man with his Get Over Here! pull ability, and Iron Fist with his K’un-Lun Kick and homing Jeet Kune Do primary attacks. While some of these abilities have ranged properties, others help close the distance between the hero and Ultron.

Psylocke’s Psionic Crossbow and Wing Shurikens are effective at medium-to-close ranges, but they can still deal a lot of damage when combined. If she adds in her Psi-Blade Dash, she can easily eliminate an unaware Ultron with a quick combo.

The efficiency of Spider-Man’s Get Over Here! is mostly dependent on how accurate the enemy is with his Cyber-Web Cluster secondary fire. Provided the latter hits Ultron, the enemy Spider-Man now has the ability to soft-lock onto him with Get Over Here! and zip close for a beatdown. Even without a successful Cyber-Web Cluster hit, a skilled Spider-Man can still pull Ultron in close with his Get Over Here! ability.

All Iron Fist has to do to defeat Ultron is get in close with his K’un-Lun Kick. Since K’un-Lun Kick has a much bigger hitbox than Spider-Man’s Cyber-Web Cluster (Iron Fist throws his whole body into the attack), it is very easy for Iron Fist to close the distance between him and Ultron. With the most difficult part out of the way, all that’s left for him to do is to wail on Ultron with his homing Jeet Kune Do attacks.
As Ultron, you want to be mindful of these three heroes and their locations. Once you see a Psylocke, Spider-Man, or Iron Fist make a beeline for you, activate your Dynamic Flight ability and hightail it out of there. Ultron’s base and Dynamic Flight speeds probably won’t be enough to outrun these heroes, but they can help you create some space to mount a counterattack. However, given your importance as a Strategist, the best course of action would be to call for backup or go to your teammates — thus increasing your chances of survival.

Dive heroes without ranged options are sitting ducks
The remaining dive heroes in the current roster are Black Panther, Magik, Captain America, Venom, and Wolverine. Black Panther’s Spear Toss, Magik’s Magik Slash, and Captain America’s Vibranium Energy Saw are the only ranged abilities that can truly hit Ultron, but these can be difficult to aim at the flying Strategist and often cannot be combined with follow-up attacks.

These heroes should be seen as targets that Ultron can safely eliminate or farm ultimate charge off. While these matchups typically work in Ultron’s favor, remember that getting anywhere within melee range can quickly turn the tide of battle. Proper spatial awareness and ability management are key to mastering any Marvel Rivals hero, and in the case of Ultron, it means keeping your distance while providing healing and support fire.
