Deltarune Switch and Steam Deck players might have a problem importing demo save files to full game

A manual workaround is available for people playing Deltarune on Steam Deck, but the Nintendo Switch version will need more time.

Amidst Deltarune’s successful launch, there have been reports of Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck players having trouble importing their demo saves to the full game. Creator Toby Fox is aware of these issues and plans to fix them as soon as possible.

A workaround is already available for Steam Deck players. By opening your SteamOS and changing a numerical value in your save data, you can fix the problem manually. Here is the correct label for easy copy/pasting:

As Nintendo Switch players cannot access their Deltarune save files, Fox is asking those impacted by the save file import issue to message him so he can solve the problem. He would like to know if both the demo version and the full game are installed on their system. The demo’s region could also be important, as is the last time it was played. Fox announced that he and the rest of the development team are already working on an upcoming patch that addresses several issues (including this one) and will release it as soon as they are able.

Deltarune Chapters 1-4 is now available for Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC (macOS and Windows), and PlayStation 4 and 5.
